My leadership philosophy statement
"If your Presence doesn't make an impact, your absence won't make a difference" - Trey Smith
It is my personal belief that leadership is not about being in charge. It is about being influential. It is not about being the loudest voice in the room. It is about inspiring the smallest voice in the room to recognize it's power and significance. It's not about the power you hold. It's about the power you have to help others reach their fullest potential. I believe the following principles allow me to to have a strong impact on those I have the honor of leading:
- Great leaders prioritize people and lead with an empathetic disposition.
- Great leaders practice and demonstrate vulnerability.
- Great leaders push others to access their maximum potential.
- Great leaders demonstrate how to face adversity with resilience and a willingness to accept failure as an opportunity for reflection and growth.
- Great leaders demonstrate strong emotional intelligence.
- Great leaders encourage and demonstrate a healthy work life balance.
- Great leaders successfully engage in courageous conversations.
- Great leaders understand and demonstrate the power of effective coaching.
- Great leaders are culturally responsive and prioritize ongoing conversations and professional development rooted in diversity, equity, and integration.
- Great leaders consistently invite opportunities to receive authentic feedback.
- Great leaders constantly seek out ways to collaborate and share the leadership space.
- Great leaders facilitate opportunities to establish a shared vision that is clear and effective.
- Great leaders are committed to continuous learning.
